Daily Johannesburg & Ohrigstad Shuttle
Ohrigstad is a tiny town in the Limpopo region of South Africa, north of Lydenburg. Ohrigstad is located on the Mpumalanga Escarpment, which is a true nature lover’s haven in the hills, rich with indigenous vegetation and a dazzling display of birds and other species.

Visitors to Ohrigstad will find enough to do because it is close to some of South Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. Ohrigstad is well known as the Panorama Route’s starting point. The town offers a variety of lodging alternatives, including traditional B&Bs, overnight camping, and lodges.
The well-known Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve is an excellent place to spend a day or a weekend in the South African Lowveld. Birding, game viewing, fishing, boating, and picnics are all options for visitors. There are various hiking and bike routes to enjoy, as well as many more surrounding reserves to explore.
It was discovered for the first time in 1923 by a farmer hunting for missing livestock, likely a related of Oom Schalk Lourens, another legendary seeker of cattle from Groot Marico. The Echo Caves, like most of the larger caves in the area, are found in a dolomitic horizon behind the very hard Black Reef Quartzite layer that forms the hard edge of the Limpopo Escarpment.
