Step into an unforgettable three-day adventure in the Greater Kruger region with Safari Link SA’s 3-day Budget Dumela Tented Camp Safari. Designed for travellers who want an authentic safari without a luxury price tag, this trip blends open-vehicle game drives, comfortable glamping, and real bushveld magic.

Dumela Tented Camp, located in the Motlala Reserve on the edge of Kruger National Park, offers an exceptional value-for-money safari experience. With en-suite safari tents, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a swimming pool, the accommodation strikes the right balance between comfort and wilderness.

Choosing this safari with Safari Link SA means you can enjoy guided wildlife drives in open 4×4 vehicles, two nights of glamping, and two hearty dinners under the stars — all while keeping costs low.

Who This Safari Is For

This 3-day adventure is ideal for those who want real safari time without breaking the bank. Families, solo travellers, or couples who are comfortable in a shared tent and who prefer guided experiences in open vehicles rather than self-driving, will love this trip. It’s also great for those who want to have a proper safari but don’t need luxury lodging; the focus is on wildlife, scenery, and genuine bush time.

Tips to Maximise Your Adventure

To make the most of your safari, here are some tips:

  • Try to travel during the shoulder season (autumn or spring) when rates are lower and wildlife viewing is often excellent.
  • Bring a power bank for your camera or phone. With so much to see, you may shoot more photos than you expect.
  • Wear neutral-coloured clothing (greens, khakis, browns) to blend into the bush. Pack a warm layer for early-morning and evening drives, as temperatures can drop. Use a comfortable pair of shoes, especially if you plan to go for a walk.

Highlights

With two full wildlife outings (one at sunset, one full day), this safari gives you a strong chance to experience the Big Five as well as other iconic species. The Motlala Reserve itself supports predators like hyenas and leopards, as well as herbivores such as buffalo.

Your guide will help you spot a wide range of animals and read signs in the bush: tracks, spoor, and bird calls all tell a story. The open-vehicle format and small group size help you to get close to wildlife without feeling crowded.

Accommodation

Dumela Tented Camp’s tents are truly safari-style — permanent but comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, proper beds, air conditioning, and modest but effective amenities.

You will be able to unwind next to a small pool, browse the Wi-Fi, or enjoy an evening under the stars at the camp’s boma. Free private parking is also available for guests.
