Accommodation
The Dumela Tented Camp, located in the private Motlala/Guernsey Reserve (part of the Greater Kruger area), is the secret ingredient to this highly competitive package.
You will stay in spacious, permanent safari tents, each thoughtfully equipped with proper beds, fresh linen, and en-suite facilities. In the warm lowveld climate, you will appreciate the convenience of air conditioning within your tent, along with free Wi-Fi in the communal areas.
Dumela also features a refreshing outdoor pool and a lovely garden, providing the perfect place to relax during the midday heat when the animals are resting.
The camp’s location grants you spectacular views of the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance, and being located just a 20-minute drive from Kruger’s Orpen Gate means we spend less time on transfer roads and more time actively searching for wildlife.
Itinerary
Day 1: Touching Down and Sunset Chase
14:00 – Arrive at Dumela Tented Camp after your transfer from O. R. Tambo International Airport. Check in, freshen up, and settle into your tented accommodation with bushveld views.
15:30 – Depart on an open vehicle sunset game drive in the Blue Canyon Reserve. Spot the Big Five and enjoy sundowners as the afternoon light fades.
19:00 – Return to camp for dinner around the boma fire, sharing stories under the stars before falling asleep to the sounds of the wild.
Days 2 & 4: Kruger National Park
05:30 – 06:00 – Wake up for a full-day safari in Kruger National Park. Depending on wildlife activity, depart early with a bush breakfast en route or enjoy breakfast at the lodge before setting out.
07:00 – 15:00 – Spend 7 to 8 hours exploring prime game-viewing areas, with excellent chances of spotting the Big Five.
15:30 – Return to camp to rest and refresh.
19:00 – End the day with fire-lit dinner under the stars.
Day 3: The Panorama Route
05:30 – Depart for a Full-Day Panorama Route Tour. Experience a scenic change of pace as you explore iconic natural landmarks like Berlin Falls, God’s Window, The Pinnacle, Three Rondavels, and Blyde River Canyon. Your day may start with breakfast on the go or at the lodge, depending on the group and guide’s recommendation.
17:00 – Return to camp. Unwind and share stories over a delicious dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Bush Farewell and Journey Home
08:00 – Enjoy a final breakfast at camp before saying your goodbyes and beginning the journey back to Johannesburg.
17:00 – 18:00 – Arrive at O. R. Tambo International Airport with unforgettable safari memories.
